Meet the Rev. Sara Fischer!

All are welcome at St. Aidan’s

Persons of every race, language, age, gender, sexual orientation, physical and mental ability and economic level. We celebrate and are blessed by our many diverse God-given gifts. In accordance with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we hold that discrimination of any kind is outside God’s intent for God’s people, and we affirm our Baptismal vow to uphold the dignity of every human being. We affirm that all relationships are founded on the principles of God’s love, justice, and peace.

We hope you will find part of yourself here and, perhaps, something you are searching for. One thing is true, whoever you are, wherever you are from or whatever your circumstances may be, the doors of St. Aidan’s are open wide with welcome for you, no questions asked, but maybe offering some answers you have been hoping to hear.

We’re not too complicated to figure out, even if you are new to the Episcopal Church. We love the old traditional language while still embracing new and emerging worship styles designed to meet changing needs in a changing world. There are some links below to help you learn more about the core of what Episcopalians believe, and what we’re all about.

For now, perhaps all you need to know is that here at St. Aidan’s, whether young or old, we share a love for all things natural, all things real: the earth and its beauty, the arts, music from traditional hymns to rock and roll, animal ministries, and above all, love of God and love of neighbor.

So take a look around to find out more about our worship and outreach, our labyrinth, and our ministry to those who come to our doors seeking help.

Then come to a Sunday morning service or drop by our campus to simply take a look around and stop to say hello. Online or in person, you are welcome here!

Statement of Purpose

Our mission is to spread the Promise of Jesus Christ in and beyond our community through worship, education, fellowship, and outreach.

Land Acknowledgement

St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church occupies the traditional, ancestral, unceded and ceded lands of many tribes throughout Western Oregon. Following multiple treaties between the federal government and Indigenous peoples, Indigenous communities were forcibly removed from the land St. Aidan’s now occupies to reservations throughout Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are part of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon, The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians. Indigenous people are valued, contributing members of the Episcopal community in Oregon and there are multiple sovereign tribes represented among our parishioners and staff.

St. Aidan’s is comprised of faithful Christians who confess our historical participation in, and ongoing benefit from, the displacement of Indigenous peoples throughout Western Oregon. We accept our responsibility for understanding the continuing impact of that history on these communities. In the spirit of our Baptismal Covenant, self-reflection, worship, reconciliation, and partnership, we are committed to learn from our past mistakes and be instruments of justice and peace for all people in today’s world.

This statement is in accord with the 80th General Convention of the Episcopal Church and The Episcopal Church in Western Oregon.

Prayer for the people of the world who have died
or who mourn for loved ones lost due to war, gun violence or any kind of oppression.

O God our Father, whose beloved Son took children into his arms and blessed them: Give us grace to entrust all your beloved children to your everlasting care and love and bring them fully into your heavenly kingdom. Pour out your grace and loving-kindness upon all who grieve; surround them with your love; and restore their trust in your goodness so that they may find their way back to peace. We beseech you to send your Holy Spirit to take away the anger and violence that infects our hearts and make us instruments of your peace and children of the light. In the Name of Christ who is our hope, we pray. Amen.
